Cincinnati Falls to Central Michigan, 2-1

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The University of Cincinnati women's soccer program fell to Central Michigan, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon in Mount Pleasant.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The University of Cincinnati women's soccer program fell to Central Michigan, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon in Mount Pleasant.

The Bearcats could not overcome a quick start by the Chippewas and move to 2-1-0 on the season. Central Michigan scored both its goals in the first 11 minutes of action. 

Freshman Rylee Felton pulled the Bearcats within one before halftime. She earned her second collegiate goal in the 43rd minute of play. 

Cincinnati had five shots on goal and two corner kicks in the second half, but could not convert. 

Junior Maddie Swingle remained on the pitch for the full duration of the match for the third time this season while sophomore Ashlyn Basinger made her Cincinnati debut. Basinger played in eight minutes on the forward line.

Cincinnati returns to Gettler Stadium for a three-match homestand, beginning with Louisville on Thursday (Aug. 29).
