CINCINNATI – Cincinnati great Jordan Thompson returns to Fifth Third Arena when the Bearcats host Morehead State on Thursday night. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
Cincinnati will face Morehead State in a home-and-away series. The two teams will play again at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Morehead, Ky.
SERIES HISTORY
The Bearcats boast a 17-6 all-time record against Morehead State. The two teams last met in 2013, resulting in a four-set win for the Eagles. Prior to that, UC had won seven in a row, dating back to1998.
FRAME NAMED BIG 12 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Freshman libero Faith Frame has been named Big 12 Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. Frame averaged a conference-leading 5.14 digs per set in a 2-0 week for the Bearcats.
She posted a career-high 27 digs in the Bearcats' four-set win over crosstown rival Xavier. The 27 digs were the most in a match by a Conference player during the week and were the most in a four-set match in the league this season. Frame is Cincinnati's second weekly Big 12 award winner, joining Zeta Washington (rookie) from Sept. 5, 2023.

Thompson claimed silver at the 2024 Paris Olympic, becoming the first Bearcat to win an Olympic medal at multiple Games. She was part of the 2020 U.S. team that won the gold medal in Tokyo.
Thompson played for UC from 2015-2019. She earned the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year accolade in 2015 and followed that up as a three-time unanimous AAC Player of the Year in 2016, 2018 and 2019. She was the first volleyball player in AAC history to earn unanimous honors and receive the award three times. Thompson led Cincinnati to its best season in school history with a Sweet 16 appearance in 2019, collecting AVCA All-America First team honors.

Cincinnati earned its fourth straight win, defeating Akron in a five-set thriller on Tuesday night. It marked the Bearcats' first five-set match of 2024.
Junior Carly Glendinning powered the Bearcats to their seventh win of the season. She put down seven kills on 10 swings in the fifth and final set (.700). She finished with a career-high 22 kills at a .388 hitting percentage (22-3-49). She has tallied 20-plus kills in two of her last three matches. She's averaging 4.50 kills at a .361 hitting percentage during the stretch.
Senior Abby Walker also shined with a season-high 15 kills to go along with a match-high six blocks. She only committed one attacking error on 24 attempts (.583).
