TicketsCINCINNATI – Graduate student Zeynep Erman will be touching the court for the first time as a Bearcat at 10:30 a.m. against Wake Forest's Whitley Pate at the ITA All-American Pre-Qualifying in Cary, N.C., on Saturday.
Erman is the lone representative for Cincinnati at the event.
The Turkey native is the first Bearcat to compete at the ITA All-American Pre-Qualifying since Fall of 2016, when former Bearcats Lauren Bellinger and Kelly Poggensee-Wei were in action at the event.
The 2024 ITA Women's All-American Championships will feature draws of the following sizes: Singles (Pre-Qualifying: 128, Qualifying: 64, Main Draw: 64) and Doubles (Pre-Qualifying: 32, Qualifying: 32, Main Draw: 32). A total of 10 singles players will advance to the NCAA Singles Championship, consisting of eight main draw quarterfinalists and two finalists from the feed-in consolation.
Erman is a transfer from Syracuse University. She made a significant impact during her time at Syracuse, highlighted by impressive victories and steady growth. Her career achievements include a flawless 5-0 record at the No. 2 singles spot, a standout win over No. 8 Alexa Noel of Miami, and key contributions to Syracuse's victories against NJIT, Buffalo and Coppin State.
