CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team opens Big 12 play at West Virginia on Wednesday night. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Morgantown, W.Va.
SERIES HISTORY
Cincinnati and West Virginia split the season series a year ago. Both matches were decided in five sets. The Bearcats lead the all-time series, 13-3. Prior to last season, Cincinnati had won nine straight against WVU.

The Bearcats concluded non-conference play with a 9-2 record, their most non-conference wins since the 2018 season. The .818 winning percentage is the fifth-best among Big 12 teams. The non-conference winning percentage is also the Bearcats' best since the 2003 season (.867, 13-2). The Bearcats earned five sweeps, their most in non-conference play since 2019.
Cincinnati has won six straight matches for its longest winning streak since 2019, when the Bearcats clinched 11 straight victories.
Abby Walker and Katelyn Lefler were named to the Best Western Invitational All-Tournament Team while Walker and Sydney Nolan earned All-Tournament accolades at the Bellarmine Classic.
GIVE IT TO GLENDINNING
Junior Carly Glendinning has come alive for the Bearcats during their six-match win streak. She has put down a team-high 104 kills at 4.52 average and .316 hitting percentage. She has tallied 20-plus kills three times during the stretch, setting a new career high in the category each time. Her top performance came versus Morehead State on Sept. 19. She totaled 24 kills at a .310 hitting percentage and added a career-high four service aces.
In UC's win over Akron, she posted seven of her 22 kills in the fifth set. She hit .700 in the frame to power the Bearcats to the win.
She currently ranks fourth in the Big 12 in both kills (3.74) and points (4.35) per set.
DOUBLE THE TROUBLE
Senior Katelyn Lefler and sophomore Sydney Nolan have recorded double-doubles in three straight matches. They each have four on the season. Nolan delivered a standout performance at Morehead State (Sept. 21), racking up a career-high 19 kills at a .429 clip to go along with 13 digs. She did not commit an attacking error until the fourth set.
Lefler sits fourth in the league and 16th nationally in assists per set (10.67). She has dished out 40-plus assists five times this season.
IN THE RANKINGS
The Bearcats rank fourth in the Big 12 in blocks per set (2.44). Individually, Walker ranks eighth in the category (1.23 blk/s) while Williams sits 14th (1.03 blk/s).
Walker posted a career-high nine blocks in wins against both BGSU and Chicago State, tying her for 12th in the nation for blocks in a three-set match. In its victory over BGSU, UC notched 15 blocks, which ranks sixth in the nation for a three-set match.
Glendinning currently ranks fourth in the Big 12 in both kills (3.74) and points (4.35) per set. Lefler sits fourth in the league and 16th nationally in assists per set (10.67). As a team, Cincinnati ranks 41st nationally in kills per set (13.56) and 39th in assists per set (12.69).
