Cincinnati Sweeps Bellarmine on Saturday

 The University of Cincinnati volleyball team finished the Bellarmine Classic with a three-set victory over the host Knights on Saturday in Louisville, Ky.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team finished the Bellarmine Classic with a three-set victory over the host Knights on Saturday in Louisville, Ky.
 
The Bearcats (4-2) earned their fourth sweep of the season. Junior Carly Glendinning paced the offense with 15 kills at a .351 hitting percentage. Senior Abby Walker and sophomore Sydney Nolan added a combined 17 kills in the win. 
 
Defensively, freshman Faith Frame tied her season high with 18 digs. Redshirt sophomore Ligia Williams had a match- and season-high seven blocks, including four in the first set.
 
Cincinnati posted eight blocks and outhit the Knights, .213 to .090.
 
The Bearcats posted three straight blocks to take control of the early going (9-6). Cincinnati pushed its lead to six after three consecutive Bellarmine attacking errors (20-14). Bellarmine made a late run and evened the score at 24 all. The Bearcats held on to win the set in extra points, 26-24.
 
Cincinnati jumped out to a six-point advantage in the second set (15-9). Bellarmine used a 4-0 run to pull within one (23-22), but UC never relinquished the lead, taking the frame 25-23. 
 
The Bearcats cruised to the victory with a 25-14 third-set win. The Bearcats held the Knights to a set-low .032 hitting percentage. Glendinning had seven kills on 16 attempts in the final set.
