Women's Golf Set for Two-Day Kansas Event

The University of Cincinnati women's golf team will travel to Lawrence, Kansas to compete in the Marilynn Smith Invitational beginning Monday.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's golf team will travel to Lawrence, Kansas, to compete in the Marilynn Smith Invitational beginning Monday. 
 
The two-day tournament will take place at the par 72, 6,085-yard Lawrence Country Club. The first two rounds will take place on Monday and the final round will be on Tuesday. All rounds will have a double tee time start at 9 a.m. ET. 
 
Last time out, the Bearcats had their best showing of the season, finishing in second place in the Pat Bradley Invitational. All five players finished in the top-25 and the team set a program record for the lowest tournament score (847). 
 
Junior Mar García led UC, posting a career-low, 2-under 69 in the final round of the Pat Bradley. She finished the tournament tied for sixth place at two-under par (212). Garcia's 74.66 stroke average is second on the team to Ruby Chou's 74.11.
 
The Bearcats' lineup consists of García, Chou, Yu-Wei Chiang, Rim Imni and Minoo Mousavi. It marks Mousavi's debut as a Bearcat following her All-America honors at Blue Mountain Christian College in Mississippi.
 
In addition to Cincinnati, the 13-team field includes host Kansas, Kansas (B), Kent State, Central Arkansas, Delaware, Eastern Michigan, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Long Beach State, Missouri, Northern Colorado and San Francisco.
