CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving program is back in action this weekend as they travel to Columbus, Ohio for the Ohio State Invitational.
Events will run Thursday-Saturday with prelims beginning at 9:30 a.m. (Thursday & Friday) and 8 a.m. (Saturday). Finals are set for 5:30 p.m. (Thursday & Friday) and 3:30 p.m. (Saturday).

UC standouts Joleigh Crye and Hunter Gubeno have found themselves among the top in the country in several events as the team heads into midseason.
Crye sits tenth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.38, while Gubeno matches placement in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:41.11.

Despite both the men and women falling to Northwestern, the Bearcats took home eight event wins.
Gubeno earned three individual wins for the second straight meet this season. He finished first in the 200-yard individual medley (1:46.82), 200-yard backstroke (1:41.11) and the 100-yard backstroke (46.87). These performances led to Gubeno earning back-to-back Big 12 Swimmer of the Week titles.
For the women, Crye led the way grabbing wins in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.38) and 100-yard butterfly (53.53). She was also a member of the women's 200-yard freestyle relay team that tallied a first-place finish and the seventh-fastest time in program history with a time of 1:31.78. Crye also was named Big 12 Swimmer of the week for the third time in her career.
The women's 400-yard medley relay team of Crye, Ellie Schrank, Kate Mardis and Jessica Davis grabbed second place and recorded the second-fastest time in program history (3:37.75). On the men's side, the team of Gubeno, Corban McIntosh, Owen Chiles and Luke Van Deusen also finished second with a time of 3:14.49, the ninth-fastest in program history.
Continuing his success from week one, sophomore Kyle Bumgardner notched another win in the 200-yard breaststroke, recording a time of 1:58.17. Bumgardner also earned second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 54.43, moving him into sixth in program history.
Senior Annabelle Young earned two second place finishes in the 500-yard (4:52.99) and 1000-yard freestyles (10:02.10).
On the diving side, junior Lauren Melia and sophomore Langely Petersen tied for fifth in the 1-meter dive with a score of 243.08. Senior Will Claus had the best finish for the Bearcats in the 3-meter dive, placing fourth with a score of 318.75.
