The University of Cincinnati elevated its athletic program and provided opportunities to advance its student-athletes through its NIL partnership with Total Quality Logistics (TQL).
TQL, headquartered in Cincinnati, is one of the largest freight brokerage firms in the U.S., dedicated moving freight efficiently across the country while fostering strong connections within the community. Their commitment to creating opportunities extends beyond logistics, as they actively invest in local partnerships that uplift sports, education, and professional development.
TQL selected 10 exceptional UC student-athletes from various sports to serve as ambassadors for their brand. As a longstanding supporter of Cincinnati's football program, the company expanded its involvement through this NIL project, working directly with student-athletes.
Under the agreement, these student-athletes promoted the company's various resources, great culture and other highlights across their social media platforms. Throughout the month, their social media platforms included professional opportunities and mentorship programs within TQL, highlighting the benefits of joining their team. The athletes were given a platform to gain marketing experience and expand their professional networks.
The athletes included in this partnership came from six different athletic teams at UC, representing a diverse range of sports, each selected for their potential to represent both the company and the university. Among those chosen were Faye Souza, a sophomore on the swimming and diving team, and men's track and field graduate student Korbin Spencer.
From the football team, several athletes took part in this opportunity, including senior linebacker Jared Bartlett, junior defensive lineman Rob Jackson, senior center Gavin Gerhardt and junior wide receiver Sterling Berkhalter. The men's basketball team was also represented by senior guard CJ Anthony.
"I'm appreciative of this opportunity so far and I want this to keep building," Anthony said. "I feel like learning to market myself and working with big brands like TQL has helped me to recognize the person I want to become in the future. Working with a program this big has really given me a boost, and I really appreciate it."
UC baseball was showcased with two junior pitchers, Carter Earls and Keegan Allen. Completing the group was freshman outside hitter Amanda Mack from UC volleyball, adding another women's athlete to the mix.
"I absolutely loved working with TQL!" Mack said. "The drive to be the best they can be in their respective fields is what I loved most about them as my values aligned with this as well. They were also very involved in the community and were always trying to make it a better place for everyone!"
This activation showed TQL's creativity and its commitment to the future of student-athletes. By providing exposure and mentorship, TQL offered them resources to thrive both on and off their field of play. As TQL supported UC athletes, it further strengthened the connection between UC Athletics and the entire UC community.
