CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team is set to host Education Day on Tuesday, facing off against Central Connecticut State at 11 a.m. at Fifth Third Arena.

THE RUNDOWN
  • Cincinnati returns to action after an eight-day break, following a 1-1 performance at the inaugural Atlantic Slam W in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (Nov. 22-24).
  • Jillian Hayes and Tineya Hylton earned Atlantic Slam W All-Tournament Team honors. Hayes averaged 20.0 points, 9.7 rebounds and shot 43.6%, while Hylton contributed 12.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and shot 40.6% during the event.
  • Toronto native Hylton notched her third career 20-point game in the finale, scoring 20 on 7-of-14 shooting against FGCU. She has set or matched her career high in scoring three times in the first six games.
  • Hayes shined with a 28-point, 11-rebound performance against Georgetown, marking her fourth double-double of the season and 27th of her career. Her career-high 12 free throws made (on 15 attempts) lead the Big 12 in a single game this season.
  • Hayes recently surpassed 900 career rebounds, becoming just the third player in program history to reach the milestone. She is averaging nearly a double-double with 20.2 points and 9.7 rebounds while shooting 52.4% from the field. In the Big 12, she ranks second in rebounding (first in offensive rebounds), third in scoring and ninth in field goal percentage.
  • Hayes' four double-doubles in six games rank third in the Big 12 and 14th nationally.
  • Freshman guard Chloe Mann recorded a career-high 15 points with three steals and two assists against Georgetown. She is averaging 9.0 points over her last three games.
  • Redshirt junior Alliance Ndiba opened her Bearcat career with three consecutive games of 10+ rebounds. She is the first Bearcat to start a season with 10+ boards in three straight games since Loyre Harper in 1992-93.
  • Ndiba ranks eighth in the conference in blocking (1.5) and 11th in rebounding (7.7). She has led the team in rebounds twice and blocking five times.
  • Hayes and Hylton combined for 40 points against Davidson, marking the first time since November 2022 that two Bearcats scored 20+ points in the same game.
  • Hylton is averaging 14.0 points, while also ranking fifth in the Big 12 in free throw percentage (.862) and 15th in assists (3.8).
  • Among active career leaders in Division I, Hayes is fourth in FT made (436), 17th in rebounds (902) and 29th in doubles-doubles (27).
  • Cincinnati ranks second in the Big 12 in free throw percentage, shooting 77.8% from the charity stripe. The Bearcats are 4-1 when outshooting opponents at the line.
  • The team's turnover margin highlights a key trend: 8.3 turnovers per game in wins, but 20.5 turnovers per game in losses.
  • Head coach Katrina Merriweather recently signed a historic 2025 recruiting class, ranked No. 7 nationally by ASGR Hoops—the highest in program history.
