KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Cincinnati alumnus Travis Kelce reached two significant milestones during the Kansas City Chiefs' 29-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday.

Kelce set the Chiefs record for touchdown receptions (77) with his 12-yard scoring grab in the fourth quarter of the game. He broke Tony Gonzalez's franchise record of 76 set from 1997 to 2008.

He became just the 15th player in NFL history to reach 1,000 receptions during the game, and also passed Steelers' great Hines Ward (1,000 catches) for No. 14 in the NFL record book with 1,004 career grabs.

He finished with eight receptions for 84 yards with the score against the Steelers on Christmas Day as the Chiefs improved to 15-1 and clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC Playoffs as they look to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.

Kelce's career numbers are staggering. Now in his 12th season, he has 1,004 receptions, 12,151 yards and 77 touchdown catches over 175 games.

He now ranks 14th in NFL history in receptions and first among active players. Among tight ends, only Gonzalez (1,325) and Jason Witten (1,228) have more catches all-time.

The 35-year-old has 97 catches for 823 yards and three touchdowns this season as he seeks his 10th consecutive Pro Bowl invitation.

Kelce has put together a first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Fame-worthy career since joining the NFL as a third-round pick by the Chiefs in 2013.

A four-time All-Pro, Kelce has won three Super Bowls, including two straight. His 31 career Super Bowl receptions are second in NFL history behind only Jerry Rice (33). His 165 receptions in the playoffs are the most in NFL history.

He played at UC from 2008 to 2012 and finished his collegiate career with 59 receptions for 875 yards and 10 touchdowns. He added two rushing scores and also threw a touchdown pass. He proved to be one of the best tight ends in the nation in 2012, catching 45 passes for 722 yards and eight scores. He famously tallied five receptions for 123 yards and the go-ahead 83-yard touchdown in the 2012 Belk Bowl.

Kelce launched the Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation in 2022. The endowment helps fund the University of Cincinnati's Sports Psychology and Counseling Department, directly impacting and aiding all 450 student-athletes.

Additionally, Travis and his brother, Jason Kelce, a fellow Super Bowl winner and Cincinnati alumnus, host the award-winning "New Heights" podcast. The weekly podcast regularly reaches No. 1 on the Apple and Spotify charts and was named Podcast of the Year at the 2024 iHeartPodcast Awards.

The brothers came back to UC to host "New Heights Live!" last April, selling out Fifth Third Arena in one of the most memorable nights in Bearcats history.
