CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati sophomore right-handed pitcher Tommy Boba was named National Pitcher of the Week by Perfect Game on Tuesday.

One day after earning Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors, Boba received national recognition from Perfect Game for his outstanding performances last week against Kansas and Western Illinois

Across two outings last week, Boba struck out 10 in 9.1 scoreless innings while allowing just one hit. The bulk of his production came in his fantastic start against Kansas this past Saturday, where he carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning of a 1-0 win vs. the Jayhawks.

Boba struck out eight against KU and held them hitless for the first eight frames before allowing a hit in the top of the ninth. D1Baseball ranked the Top 100 pitching performances from this past weekend by game score, and Boba's mark of 86 was the highest in the country for this weekend's slate of games.

Earlier in the week, Boba struck out two in 1.1 innings against Western Illinois in midweek action.
