TicketsCINCINNATI – Junior Rozalia Gruszczynska and sophomore Gabrielle Guenther are set to represent Cincinnati women's tennis in the Milwaukee Classic at the Nicolet Tennis Center this weekend.
The women's draw consists of 11 programs – Cincinnati, Houston, Lipscomb, Marquette, Navy, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Purdue, Tennessee, Washington State and Wisconsin.
This weekend's event will be the first competition of the fall for both Bearcats.
Last season, Gruszczynska led UC with 10 singles victories. The Kraków, Poland native played in all 23 matches, securing eight singles wins at the No. 1 spot. Teaming up with Guenther, Gruszczynska achieved a team-high 10 doubles victories, all at the No. 1 position.
In her freshman campaign last season, Guenther competed mainly in the No. 3 spot. The Mishawaka, Ind., native posted six singles wins and triumphed in her only match on court No. 2, sweeping Southern Indiana's Lauren Rowe in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Guenther recorded her first Big 12 win against Iowa State's Isabella Dunlap.
