TicketsBLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team fell to Indiana 6-1 in its first road matchup this season at the IU Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
Graduate student Zeynep Erman picked up the lone win for the Bearcats on court No. 1 after taking down Nicole Teodosescu in a three-set battle, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.
Indiana secured the other five singles matchups.
Bearcats sophomore Gabrielle Guenther put up a strong fight against Lara Schneider, claiming the opening set but narrowly fell in a hard-fought battle, 6-4, 4-6, 0-1 (6) on court three.
The Hoosiers notched the doubles point after picking up wins on court No. 1 and No. 3.
On court two, Cincinnati sophomores Morgan Pyrz and Sakurako Watanabe held a 5-4 lead against Li Hsin Lin and Magdalena Swierczynska when the doubles point was clinched, leaving their match unfinished.

On Saturday, the Bearcats return home to host a doubleheader against Eastern Michigan and Oakland at the Western Athletic Club. First serve against Eastern Michigan is set for 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. ET versus Oakland.
