The University of Cincinnati Women's tennis team is prepared to host a doubleheader against Eastern Michigan and Oakland at the Western Athletic Club on Saturday.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati Women's tennis team is prepared to host a doubleheader against Eastern Michigan and Oakland at the Western Athletic Club on Saturday.
 
The Bearcats take on the Eagles at 1:30 p.m. ET and the Golden Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Cincinnati (1-1) looks to bounce back after falling on the road to Indiana last weekend.
 
Graduate student Zeynep Erman moved to 2-0 in singles play after winning a three-set battle against Indiana's Nicole Teodosescu, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 on court No. 1.

The last matchup between these two teams came on February 13, 2010. Eastern Michigan took the match 5-2 at home. 
 
The Eagles come into the matchup with a record of 2-0 after sweeping Ferris State at home, 7-0, 4-0 in their season-opening doubleheader. 
 
On court No. 1, the doubles team of Sabina Brichackova and Prerna Vichare dominated their two matches with scores of 6-0 and 6-1.
 
Lara Diaz Zayas led the way in singles; she won her opening match with a double bagel, 6-0, 6-0 and took her second match in straight sets as well, 6-0, 77-64.

This marks the second-ever matchup between the two programs. The first matchup occurred on March 3, 1998, where Cincinnati won at home, 9-0.
 
Oakland enters the season fourth in the Horizon League preseason rankings.
 
Before heading to Cincinnati, the Golden Grizzlies make a stop in Dayton to take on the Flyers to kick off their season.
 
Oakland finished the 2023-24 season with a record of 5-14, 1-6 in the Horizon League.
 
The Golden Grizzlies were led by Emilia Jarvinen, who finished the 2023-24 season with a record of 8-5, mainly playing on court No. 1.
 
The doubles team of Emilia Jarvinen and Edie Hammond secured a record of 6-4 last season, primarily playing on the No. 2 court.
