CINCINNATI – Cincinnati lacrosse standouts Camryn Callaghan, Lauren Ottensmeyer and Alexis Rich were named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team, the league announced Thursday.
The Bearcats were ranked fourth overall, with former AAC opponent Florida taking the top spot.
The trio was unanimously selected as they prepare for the program's inaugural season in the Big 12 conference.
Last week, Callaghan and Ottensmeyer received Preseason All-American status from USA Lacrosse, following All-American honorable mention honors at the end of last season.
Rich, entering her senior season, led the Bearcats in caused turnovers (18) and groundballs (29) for the 2024 season. She started and played in every match and aims to continue her defensive leadership.
Callaghan, an Upper Arlington native, equaled her impressive performance from her freshman year in 2023 by scoring 56 goals, making her the fastest player in program history to reach 100 goals. She registered 11 hat tricks last season alongside a .853 shot on goal percentage. The 56 goals are tied for fourth in single-season program history.
Ottensmeyer led the Bearcats with 57 goals (third at the school) and 67 points in her senior season. She recorded a goal in every game, with 13 of those being hat tricks. The Missouri native notched a career-high six goals twice, against Louisville and Ohio State.
