CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team fell to 14th-ranked Kansas State, 90-53, on Wednesday night inside Fifth Third Arena.

The Bearcats (14-9, 6-7) could not overcome a hot-shooting Wildcats squad that finished at 50% from the field and knocked down 10 three-pointers.

Fifth year Jillian Hayes recorded her 10th double-double of the season with 15 points and 15 rebounds. She has now posted 10 double-doubles in three straight seasons, bringing her career total to 33.

Sophomore Reagan Jackson and freshman Chloe Mann each added 10 points, with Jackson notching her third straight game in double figures. Overall, Cincinnati shot 28% from the floor and 21% from behind the arc.

Hylton and Mann each drained a pair of three-pointers to open the game, but the Wildcats responded with a pair of their own to take an early 11-7 lead. Four points from Mann and a three by Reagan Jackson pulled the Bearcats within two (16-14), but the Wildcats closed the quarter on a 6-2 run to lead 22-16.

K-State pushed its advantage to double digits early in the second quarter after consecutive threes (30-19). Cincinnati struggled to find offensive rhythm and trailed 42-25 at halftime.

Hayes scored 14 of her 15 points in the second half, going 5-for-8 from the floor, but the Bearcats were unable to chip away at the deficit as Kansas State maintained control the rest of the way.
