CINCINNATI – After its electric start to the season last weekend, No. 25 Cincinnati will visit UNLV for a four-game series beginning this Friday.
First pitch for the opener is set for 9:05 p.m. ET. Game two on Saturday and the finale on Monday will also begin at 9:05 p.m. ET, while game three on Sunday will start at 4:05 p.m. ET. All four games will be streamed live for free on UNLV's YouTube channel.
This will mark the first-ever meeting between Cincinnati and UNLV on the diamond.
The Bearcats enter play this weekend ranked in the Top 25 of the D1Baseball poll for the first time in program history. They earned their ranking by virtue of an impressive season-opening series win at No. 11 Duke last weekend where they took two out of three games against the Blue Devils. UC ended the weekend with a dominant 19-5 victory.
Cincinnati's brand of baseball was on full display all weekend and especially in the finale. UC logged 12 walks and its hitters were hit by a pitch four times while also collecting eight stolen bases and three bunt singles.
Cincinnati will now turn its attention to a UNLV squad that went 2-2 last weekend, capturing two wins against Indiana. JP Hefft and Dean Toigo were the Rebels' top run producers last weekend, collecting 13 RBI between them. UNLV features 23 newcomers this spring, including 20 transfer additions.
Following this weekend's series at UNLV, Cincinnati will visit UC San Diego for a four-game series next weekend, Feb. 27-March 2. Opening Day at UC Baseball Stadium is set for Wednesday, March 5 vs. Toledo at 4:00 p.m.

Seniors Kerrington Cross (.438, 2 HR, 6 RBI) and Donovan Ford (.455, .571 OBP, 4 RBI) starred at the plate for the Bearcats, while the pitching staff as a whole logged 32 strikeouts in 29.1 innings. Freshman Adam Buczkowski and redshirt junior Joel Pineiro both recorded long scoreless relief appearances in their Bearcat debuts.
