Chou, Bearcats Finish Strong at FAU Event

The University of Cincinnati women's golf team wrapped up play on Tuesday at the FAU Paradise Invitational with its third-best round of the season, trailing only two from the record-setting Pat Bradley Invitational this fall.

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The University of Cincinnati women's golf team wrapped up play on Tuesday at the FAU Paradise Invitational with its third-best round of the season, trailing only two from the record-setting Pat Bradley Invitational this fall.

UC finished in 12th place with a team score of 882, improving by three spots in the finale.

"This was a highly competitive field for our first event of the spring, and we had countless standout moments that showcased our hard work in the offseason." head coach Aimee Ponte said. "There are some easy areas for improvement and we are excited for the rest of the season with this great group!

Ruby Chou led the Bearcats with a three-under-par 69 in the final round, marking her third under-par finish of the season. She also recorded a team-high four birdies on Tuesday and made a 33-spot jump to finish tied for 27th place. 

Yu-Wei Chiang kicked off her spring season strong, posting a team-high 13 birdies throughout the tournament and also finished tied for 27th.  

Mar García (T34), Rim Imni (T65) and Lauren Pleiman (77) followed Chou and Chiang in the standings. 

Oklahoma claimed both the team and individual titles, with Gracie Mayo leading the way with a tournament-best 11-under par (205).   

UP NEXT 
The Bearcats will travel to Mount Pleasant, S.C. to compete in the Rivertowne Invitational on Feb. 17-18.
