Juliette Laracuente-Huebner Wins Big 12 Championship in Pentathlon

University of Cincinnati track and field sophomore Juliette Laracuente-Huebner notched the Bearcats' first ever individual Big 12 title by winning the pentathlon with an impressive score of 4182 points.

LUBBOCK, Texas – University of Cincinnati track and field sophomore Juliette Laracuente-Huebner notched the Bearcats' first ever individual Big 12 title by winning the pentathlon with an impressive score of 4182 points.
 
The Marengo, Ohio native set a new personal best with her mark and now owns the second-best mark in school history, narrowly trailing former Bearcat Jasmine Cotton who recorded 4192 points in 2012.
 
// HOW IT HAPPENED
Laracuente-Hubner snagged 1004 points in the 60m Hurdle, claiming third place in 8.56 seconds.
 
In the shot put, she secured 879 points coming in fourth, with a leap of 1.72m.
 
The sophomore tied her career best in the shot put, with a toss of 11.24m, which was good for 611 points and eighth place.
 
In the long jump, Laracuente-Huebner soared 5.89m en route to second and 816 points.
 
The pentathlon title was achieved after she recorded a time of 2:16.47 in the 800m, gaining 872 points and fifth place.
