Ottensmeyer and Selhorn Earn Big 12 Weekly Honors

CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati lacrosse stars graduate student Lauren Ottensmeyer and freshman Paige Selhorn earned Big 12 Weekly Honors this week, the league announced Tuesday.

CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati lacrosse stars graduate student Lauren Ottensmeyer and freshman Paige Selhorn earned Big 12 Weekly Honors this week, the league announced Tuesday.

Selhorn grabbed her first Freshman of the Week accolade, while Ottensmeyer earned her first Attacker of the Week title.

Both athletes are coming off strong performances against Xavier and Central Michigan.

Ottensmeyer recorded a season-high seven goals against the Chippewas, marking her sixth-straight hat trick this season. She also notched five goals and one assist against the Musketeers. She leads the Big 12 in goals per game (4.14 avg/g) and is second in points per game (4.86 avg/g). 

Selhorn has shined in her rookie season, leading the team with 16 assists. She recorded six assists against Xavier, matching her career-high set just three days prior versus Kent State. The Westbury, N.Y. native scored a combined four goals over the past two games and ranks third on the team in goals. Selhorn ranks second in the conference in assists per game (2.29 avg/g). 

Cincinnati remains on the road as they take on No. 21 Ohio State on Friday at 3 p.m. before returning home to host Eastern Michigan on Sunday at noon.
