CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team hosts Canisius for a four-game series this weekend, continuing its six-game homestand at UC Baseball Stadium.
The series will begin with a doubleheader on Friday, March 7 starting at 2:00 p.m. Game two of the doubleheader will begin approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Game three on Saturday will start at 2:00 p.m., and the finale on Sunday is set for 1:00 p.m. All four games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
The series was originally scheduled to begin on Friday with one game, followed by a doubleheader Saturday and one final game on Sunday. The schedule was changed because of the weather forecast for this weekend.
Following the weekend series vs. Canisius, Cincinnati will host Miami (Ohio) on Tuesday, March 11 at 6:00 p.m. at UC Baseball Stadium. Big 12 Conference play opens the following weekend at Arizona (March 14-16).

Cincinnati is 6-6 entering this weekend's series and is coming off a 7-5 win against Toledo in its home opener on Tuesday. The top of the lineup did its part in the victory, as each of the first four batters in the order had multi-hit efforts. Senior Tommy O'Connor and junior Landyn Vidourek homered as well, going back-to-back in the third inning. Vidourek also stole two bases against the Rockets and is 9-for-9 stealing this year. He leads all Big 12 players in stolen bases.

Canisius is 0-6 entering this weekend, having played road series at James Madison and NC State so far. Freshman Bennett Cox has been a bright spot for the Golden Griffins, leading the team in hitting (.417) through the first six games of the year. Cox has started all six games and has four multi-hit efforts on the year. Head coach Matt Mazurek is in his eighth season with the program and has helped lead them to NCAA Regional appearances in 2018 and 2022.
