CINCINNATI – Big 12 Conference play begins this weekend for the Cincinnati baseball team with a three-game series at Arizona.
First pitch on Friday is set for 9:00 p.m. ET, followed by a 9:00 p.m. ET game on Saturday and a 2:00 p.m. ET game on Sunday. All three games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Cincinnati and Arizona have never met on the diamond prior to this weekend.
Both the Bearcats (six) and Wildcats (five) bring winning streaks into this weekend's series, and if UC is able to have success at Hi Corbett Field it will be the first visiting team to do so this season. Arizona is 9-0 when playing at home this year.
Following this weekend's series, Cincinnati returns home for an eight-game homestand that begins with a series vs. BYU on March 20-22.
// NOTING THE HOMESTAND
Cincinnati has played its last six games at home, a stretch that began with a midweek contest vs. Toledo on March 5 and was followed by a four-game series vs. Canisius this past weekend and a game against Miami (Ohio) this past Tuesday. The Bearcats went 6-0 and put up some impressive numbers during their first homestand of the 2025 season:
// LAST TIME OUT
Cincinnati closed out its recent six-game homestand with a 12-3 win vs. Miami (Ohio) on Tuesday. Miami started the scoring on Tuesday with a two-run homer in the top of the first, but it was the Bearcats who took advantage of the long ball the best. Juniors Landyn Vidourek and Christian Mitchelle and redshirt freshman Charlie Niehaus all slugged home runs, with Niehaus' grand slam in the sixth inning providing the biggest reaction of them all. It was the first home run of his career for the West Chester native.
