Tennis Hosts Big 12 Opponents BYU and Utah

The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team returns home to host two Big 12 opponents, BYU, on Thursday and Utah, on Saturday.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team returns home to host two Big 12 opponents, BYU, on Thursday and Utah, on Saturday.
 
First serve against the Cougars is set for 12 p.m. ET on Thursday at the Western Athletic Club and 1 p.m. ET on Saturday versus the Utes. If the weather obliges, UC will host Utah outdoors at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center, its on-campus courts.
 
Cincinnati (6-7) enters the weekend following back-to-back road losses to Arizona (4-0) and Arizona State (4-0).
 
The Bearcats are led by Erman, the Istanbul, Turkey native owns a team-best 7-3 record on court one and a 7-3 doubles record.   
 
The doubles team of Erman and senior Callie Flanagan has been impressive, boasting a 5-1 record for Cincinnati.
 
// SCOUTING THE COUGARS
BYU comes into the match presenting a 12-6 record and a 2-3 record in conference play. The Cougars won their last match against Utah, 4-0.
 
The duo of Chelsea Bluestein and Kendall Kovick leads the Cougars doubles. The pair boasts a record of 4-1 on court No. 1
 
The pair of Veronika Kulhava and Maria Santos present a mark of 4-2, playing on courts No. 1 and No. 3.  
 
In singles, BYU is led by Bobo Huang and Grace Levelston. Huang has dominated court one with an impressive 5-1 record while compiling an 11-2 mark overall. Levelston has been equally impressive, posting a 6-2 record on court one and a 7-3 overall record.
 
Kovick and Sue Yan Tan have also delivered standout performances in singles play for BYU. Kovick has a stellar 12-3 record, while Yan Tan has compiled an 11-3 mark.
 
// SCOUTING THE UTES
Utah enters the weekend with a record of 6-8 and 1-4 in conference play. Before heading to Cincinnati, the Utes will take on West Virginia (6-11) on Thursday.
 
Utah fell in its last outing against BYU, 4-0.
 
The Utes' doubles are anchored by Emma Valletta and Sara Akid, who have posted a 5-5 record on court No. 1. The tandem of Dmma Kamper and Hayley Roberts has excelled this season, compiling an impressive 4-2 mark.
 
In singles competition, Utah is spearheaded by Kamper, who has achieved a solid 6-4 record on court one, while Akid has established herself on the No. 2 court with a strong 5-2 record.
