CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team hosts No. 18 Louisville on Tuesday at UC Baseball Stadium. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
Tuesday's game is the 191st meeting all-time between Cincinnati and Louisville. The two programs have played every year since 2011, except for 2020, and were conference foes from 1996-2014.
The Cardinals will be the second ranked opponent of the year for the Bearcats, who opened the year at No. 11 Duke. The last ranked opponent to take the field at UC Baseball Stadium was No. 12 Oklahoma last season.
There have been many memorable games on the diamond between Cincinnati and Louisville, but the 2021 matchup stands out in recent history. On March 30, 2021 the Bearcats took down the No. 5 Cardinals at home, 13-12, in extra innings on a walk-off single by Ryan Nicholson.
This season, Cincinnati has been led at the plate by Kerrington Cross. Cross is hitting a team-best .413 and also leads UC in runs scored (22) and on-base percentage (.516). He ranks fourth in the Big 12 in OBP and fifth in batting average. Other Bearcats who rank among the leaders in the Big 12 are Landyn Vidourek, who is tied for first with 16 stolen bases, and Donovan Ford, whose nine HBP rank second.
Following Tuesday's game, Cincinnati will host UCF in Big 12 action this weekend.
