Track and Field Wraps Up Day One of Texas Relays

The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field team completed the first day of the Texas Relays, with multi-events being the sole competition of the day.

AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field team completed the first day of the Texas Relays, with multi-events being the sole competition of the day.
 
Sophomore Juliette Laracuente-Huebner sits in second place with 3,377 points after day one of the heptathlon. She has competed in four events: 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200-meter dash. Three events remain for the final day: long jump, javelin throw and 800-meter run.
 
The Marengo, Ohio native provided impressive top-three performances in the 100m hurdles and the high jump. She finished second in the 100m hurdles, clocking a time of 13.87 seconds to obtain second place and 998 points. In the high jump, Laracuente-Huebner notched third place with a mark of 1.71m, earning 867 points.
 
Laracuente-Huebner also put together solid performances in the shot put and 200m. She received 903 points in the 200m after getting fifth place with a time of 24.82 seconds. With a mark of 11.21m, she received 609 points and ninth place in the shot put.
 
Day two of the competition kicks off with the multi-events at 11 a.m., followed by the field events at 12 p.m. and the running events at 6:30 p.m.
