CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team hits the road one last time this season to take on No. 19 UCF on Friday and Houston on Sunday.
First serve against the Knights is set for 6 p.m. ET on Friday at their National Campus and 3 p.m. ET on Sunday versus the Cougars at their Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility.
Cincinnati (7-8) enters the weekend after securing its first Big 12 win of the season, defeating Utah, 4-2. The Bearcats also narrowly fell in a closely contested battle against BYU, 4-2.
Graduate student Zeynep Erman sealed the deal against Utah, winning her match in straight sets, 7-5 (5), 6-4, improving to 8-4 in singles this season.
The Bearcats took control early in doubles. Junior Rozalia Gruszczynska and sophomore Gabrielle Guenther fell behind 2-0 on court one before flipping the script and winning 6-2. Erman and senior Callie Flanagan locked down court three with a 6-3 win to secure the doubles point. The sophomore duo of Morgan Pyrz and Sakurako Watanabe were tied at 6-6 on court two when play was stopped.
In singles, Cincinnati won on three courts to clinch the match. Gruszczynska rolled to a 6-0, 6-4 straight-sets win – her first singles victory in conference play this season. Watanabe also notched a singles victory, winning 6-3, 6-4. She's now 7-2 in singles and grabbed her second conference win.
The Bearcats are led by Erman, the Istanbul, Turkey native owns a team-best 8-4 record on court one and an 8-4 doubles record.
The doubles team of Erman and Flanagan has been dominant, presenting a 6-2 record for Cincinnati.

UCF comes into the match boasting a dominant 15-1 record and a 7-1 record in conference play. The Knights dropped their last match against No. 14 Texas Tech, 4-1. Before falling in their last match, UCF had secured eight straight wins in a row.
Sophia Biolay leads the Knights in singles, as she holds an impressive 12-match winning streak in singles play.
In doubles, Biolay and teammate Aya El Aouni have secured nine of the team's nine consecutive doubles victories. The pair boasts a 9-3 record this season and remain undefeated when playing together on court two.

Houston enters the weekend with a record of 3-11 and 0-8 in conference play. Before hosting Cincinnati, the Cougars will take on West Virginia (6-13) on Friday.
In singles, Valeriia Krokhotina leads the charge with a record of 5-3, while the doubles duo of Gabriela Cortes and Sophie Schouten own a team-best 4-8 record.
