CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The University of Cincinnati women's golf team battled through windy conditions and completed the first round of the Chattanooga Classic at the Honors Course on Friday. 

Graduate student Ruby Chou paced the Bearcats in the opening round with a score of three over par (75). Chou also tallied a team-high four birdies during the round. Heading into the final two rounds on Saturday, she is tied for 18th place. 

Yu-Wei Chiang is tied for 24th, while Mar Garcia and Rim Imni are both tied for 34th. Minoo Mousavi rounds out the group in 57th place.  

UC is currently in eighth place among a competitive field that features five nationally ranked teams.  

The final two rounds will be played on Saturday beginning at 8:45 a.m. ET due to incoming weather on Sunday.
