ORLANDO, Florida – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team dropped its match to #19 UCF, 4-1, at the National Campus on Friday night.
UCF notched the doubles point after taking courts one and three.
The singles matchups were tightly contested.
Sophomore Sakurako Watanabe played an incredible match, as she grabbed the lone point for Cincinnati with a 6-3, 6-2 win on court No. 5. This victory marks the Edgewood, Ky., natives third win in a row and moves her record to an impressive 9-2 mark.
Junior Isabel Pacheco and freshman Milica Popovski also put together great performances. Pacheco was up 6-1, 4-3, and Popovski led 7-5, 2-2, as both of their matches went unfinished due to UCF clinching the match.
The Knights secured courts one, two and three to close out the match.
