CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team returns home to host the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Sunday for its Multiple Myeloma Awareness Game. Opening draw is set for noon inside Nippert Stadium.
Multiple Myeloma is a rare blood cancer that affected former Assistant Coach and UC alumn Haley Hardy (formerly Marvine).
Hardy lettered at Cincinnati over the program's first four years (2008-11), including gaining captain duties. She was hired as Radford's first-ever lacrosse coach in October 2014, leading the program from 2016-21 before returning to Clifton in July 2021 to lead UC's defenders and goalkeepers from 2021-24.

THE RUNDOWN
- Cincinnati fell short in 10-9 double overtime loss to the No. 21 Ohio State Buckeyes on Friday evening.
- Down by as many as four, the Bearcats were able to come back and tie up the game late in the fourth quarter. Neither team scored in the first overtime, sending the game to another additional period. The Buckeyes were able to score the lone goal in overtime play, securing the victory.
- The Buckeyes opened the first quarter with four unanswered goals before sophomore Ally Keith nailed one to the back of the net and put the Bearcats on the board.
- In second quarter, junior Lexie Wolfe capitalized on the free position goal to put Cincinnati within two. After Ohio State fired back, junior Camryn Callaghan grabbed her first of the day at the six-minute mark.
- Wolfe found some momentum and scored three straight for the Bearcats, setting a new career high of four goals.
- Graduate student Lauren Ottensmeyer tied the game at eight a piece with 1:35 left in the third quarter. Ottensmeyer blasted one past the goalie to put Cincinnati in front for the first time all game with just 36 seconds left in the third.
- Ohio State was able to tie the game back up at nine each with five minutes left to play which ultimately sent the game into overtime. Neither team scored in the first overtime, sending the game to another additional period. The Buckeyes were able to score the lone goal in overtime play, securing the victory.
- Cincinnati's defense held strong in the first set of overtime minutes, holding Ohio State scoreless. Sophomore goalkeeper Hailey Darko finished with seven saves while senior Alexis Rich notched four caused turnovers.
- Graduate student Lauren Ottensmeyer scored a season-high seven goals at Central Michigan.
- Freshman Paige Selhorn added an assist to her campaign on Sunday, moving up to second in the Big 12 in assists per game (2.29 avg/g.)
- Ottensmeyer is tied for second in the nation with 29 goals, averaging 4.14 goals per game which is tenth in Division 1.
- Games where Ottensmeyer scores four or more goals, the Bearcats are 4-0.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Hailey Darko sits fourth in the conference in save percentage (.400).
- Alexis Rich and Lexie Wolfe are third and fourth in the conference in caused turnovers per game with Rich having 1.71 avg/g and Wolfe at 1.57 avg/g.
