CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team hosts Xavier on Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m. at UC Baseball Stadium.

The Bearcats and Musketeers will be meeting for the 169th time in series history, and for the first time this season. Cincinnati holds a 101-65-2 edge in the all-time series.

They'll play again next Tuesday, April 22 at Xavier.

With a 13-3 home record this season, Cincinnati is now 31-11 at home under head coach Jordan Bischel. UC has outscored its opponents 132-71 in home games this year and is hitting .329 as a team at its home ballpark. Kerrington Cross (.508) and Cal Sefcik (.449) have thrived on their home turf and lead the Bearcats in hitting in home games.

A familiar face will be at the game on Tuesday as former Bearcat and MLB All-Star Josh Harrison will be in attendance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Harrison played three years at Cincinnati and was named BIG EASTY Co-Player of the year in his final season, helping lead the team to 39 wins while hitting .378. He played 13 season in the big leagues, eight with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and was named an All-Star in 2014 and 2017.

Following Tuesday's game, Cincinnati will head to first-place No. 24 West Virginia for a big three-game series this weekend.

The Bearcats are coming off a series win at home against Arizona State that ended in thrilling fashion. After winning the first game on Friday and dropping the second game, UC won on Sunday, 9-8, in extra innings. It was the third straight series win for Cincinnati.

The Bearcats led, 7-5, heading into the top of the ninth before ASU scored three to go up 8-7. Unfazed, Quinton Coats hit a two-out, game-tying home run in the bottom of the ninth to send the game to extra innings.

Cincinnati broke out the Bischel Ball in the bottom of the 10th. Christian Mitchelle worked a full count and singled to lead off the inning, Tommy O'Connor was hit by a pitch to put another runner on, and Mitchelle stole third to put runners at the corners. Kory Klingenbeck then executed a perfect squeeze bunt that scored Mitchelle and ended the game in exciting fashion.
