CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team is set to visit No. 24 West Virginia this weekend in Big 12 Conference action.
The three-game series in Morgantown will begin on Thursday at 6:30 p.m., and game two on Friday is also set for 6:30 p.m. The finale on Saturday will start at 2:00 p.m. All three games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
This will be the second series between the Bearcats and the Mountaineers as members of the Big 12 Conference. The two squads met last year at Cincinnati and UC took two out of three games, which evened the all-time series at 19-19. UC and WVU met annually from 2006-11 as members of the BIG EAST.
This weekend will pit two of the top base-stealing teams in the Big 12 as West Virginia ranks first (88 steals) and Cincinnati ranks second (76). Half of the ten most prolific base stealers in the league will be playing in this series as UC's Landyn Vidourek (20) and Charlie Niehaus (13) rank second and fourth, respectively, while WVU's Skylar King (12), Brodie Kresser (12), and Gavin Kelly (12) are all tied for fifth.
Following this weekend's series in Morgantown, the Bearcats will return to Cincinnati for a five-game week next week. Next Tuesday UC will head to Xavier for a matinee matchup against the Musketeers before hosting Milwaukee on Wednesday and welcoming Oklahoma State to town next weekend.
