CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team will wrap up its inaugural Big 12 regular season with a Saturday afternoon match up against the Colorado Buffaloes.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team will wrap up its inaugural Big 12 regular season with a Saturday afternoon match up against the Colorado Buffaloes.
 
The program will also honor six seniors and two graduate students during the Senior Day festivities held pregame. Alexis Rich, Sarah Barnes, Megan Young, Harper Clopton, Kirsten Schleicher, Lindsay Sparago, Lauren Ottensmeyer and Julie Rose will be honored in this year's ceremony.
 
THE RUNDOWN
  • This will be the first time these two programs will face off.
  • Colorado has already clinched a spot in the Inaugural Big 12 Championship after defeating UC Davis.
  • UC's hopes for a conference tournament appearance are still in the air and the Bearcats will find out their fate after Saturday's slate of games has been completed.
  • With a win over Colorado and losses from UC Davis and San Diego State, Cincinnati is in. With a loss to Colorado, Cincinnati will lean on losses from UC Davis and San Diego State to insure their place in the tournament.
  • Cincinnati comes into the match up 8-8 after a loss to No. 4 ranked Florida.
  • Graduate Student Lauren Ottensmeyer leads the Bearcats' offensive (57) after matching a career-high seven goals against the Aztecs.  
  • The Bearcats boast at least five different scorers in 13 of their 15 games this season. Leading the way are Ottensmeyer with 57, Camryn Callaghan with 44 and Paige Selhorn with 20.
  • Offensively, the team has scored a total of 197 goals, averaging 12.3 goals per game. Against the Aztecs, the Bearcats offensive was on full throttle, notching a season-high of 19 total goals.
  • Hailey Joy Simpson has dominated the draw circle, notching a team high 45 draw controls. Lexie Wolfe is right behind with 40. 
  • Junior Thea Work and sophomore Devon Cherry have been splitting the draw specialist role. Each have started in eight games a piece this season.
  • Hailey Darko has stepped in and found her groove in the cage this season. She has tallied five or more saves in 12 games this season, including two career-high performances vs. Georgetown and San Diego State (12).
  • Camryn Callaghan expressed her focus on becoming a dual threat this season.  She pairs her 44 goals with nine assists.
  • Freshman Paige Selhorn has made an immediate impact and sprung into the national rankings.
  • With her 43 total assists, she is 13th in Division I, making her the only freshman within the top 15.
  • She sits third in the Big 12 for assists per game (2.69 avg/g) and has nine games with three or more assists, including a career high 5, three times.
  • Graduate student Lauren Ottensmeyer has found herself among the nation's best. She sits 14th in the country for total goals with 57.
  • Ottensmeyer leads the conference in shots per game with 139 and is second in goals per game (3.56)
  • Cincinnati leads the Big 12 in caused turnovers per game with 9.63 avg/g.
A WIN WOULD...

  • Improve UC at home to 5-3, a best since 2023.
