CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati men's basketball head coach Wes Miller has announced the signing of veteran guard Kerr Kriisa for the 2025-26 season.
Kriisa, a 6-foot-3 native of Tartu, Estonia, comes to Clifton with a packed resume from his three years at Arizona and one each at West Virginia and Kentucky, which includes three NCAA Tournament seasons. Kriisa played against Miller and Cincinnati four times in his career, the first coming in the 2022 Maui Invitational and the other three coming for the Mountaineers in 2023-24. His teams were 2-2, and he scored in double-figures in three of those games.
"We're thrilled to welcome Kerr to Cincinnati," said head coach Wes Miller. "We've played against Kerr multiple times over the last few years and know first-hand how much he impacts winning. He's a relentless competitor that brings a wealth of experience and winning to our program. He has an elite basketball IQ and an infectious personality that Bearcats fans will love."
This past season in Lexington was cut short with a foot injury in his ninth game of the season, which included reaching the 1,000-point milestone in his final game on Dec. 7. He also had six points in a win over eventual-Final Four Duke.
Kriisa started all 23 games in which he played for West Virginia in 2023-24, averaging 11.0 points and 4.7 assists per contest. He also shot 42.4 percent from deep on 61 makes. He had four 20-point contests, in addition to nine assists against TCU, seven against UCF and six versus Baylor.
Kriisa is best known for his three years at Arizona (2020-23), where he is one of six in Pac-12 history to record multiple triple-doubles in a career. He led the league in assists back-to-back seasons (178 following 155), the first to do so in the league since 2000 and 2001. His 177 made 3-pointers put him 10th in program history.
Kriisa is also named after nine-time NBA player and coach champion Steve Kerr. Kriisa's father, Valmo, played professionally for 24 years in Estonia, and the two even faced each other in a game in 2017.
