CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics has opened applications for the 2025-26 Fan Council.
The selected participants will assist the department in assessing and evaluating the fan experience at UC sporting events with an overall goal of enhancing the experience and advancing new concepts for all Bearcats fans as the department continues to grow as it enters year three in the Big 12.
"We're excited to announce that applications are now open for new Fan Council members," said Sydney Shelton, Director of Fan Experience and Special Projects. "Our Fan Council plays a vital role in shaping and enhancing the UC Athletics fan experience. We are deeply grateful for the passion and dedication shown by our past members over the last two years, and we look forward to welcoming a new group of committed fans to help us continue growing and improving."
The athletics department is seeking 15-20 dedicated fans to form a demographically diverse representation of its fan base, which will also include season ticket holders, alumni, faculty/staff, students, and general fans. Applicants should be able to commit to at least 9 of 12 meetings from July 2025 to May of 2026. Council members will be notified of their selections by late-May.
"Having a space to share ideas and feedback from the fan perspective," said Courtney Margarf, Fan Council member. "Whether that's game day atmosphere, communication, or the small details that make the Bearcats experience special - and knowing that our voices are genuinely heard and considered makes being part of the council feel truly impactful."
"We want the overall gameday experience to be optimized because we're also the ones there in Nippert Stadium, Fifth Third Arena, UC Baseball Stadium, and Gettler Stadium cheering on the Bearcats," said Nick Moscato, Fan Council member. "For me, it's about thinking critically about how everyone can have a better time on campus. It doesn't matter if we're working on building the season ticket base with Bearcat fans or working on being better hosts for visiting fans, we want everyone to leave Clifton ready to return."
