CINCINNATI – Cincinnati Athletics has announced a full day of programming to celebrate 513 Day on Tuesday, May 13.
As part of the celebration of Cincinnati, UC Athletics is encouraging supporters to donate to the Athletics Impact Fund, which will give UC the support it needs to compete for championships.
"There's no place like Cincinnati, and 513 Day is our chance to recognize the people and pride that make it special," said Director of Athletics John Cunningham. "Our student-athletes represent the drive and toughness of this city every day. This celebration is for them, and for all Bearcats fans who support them."
513 Day Celebration:
Bearcat Journal will host its second-annual 513 Day livestream from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., available on YouTube.com/BearcatJournal. The 11-hour show will feature exclusive interviews with UC coaches, administrators, and student-athletes, as well as ticket giveaways for that night's baseball game.
ESPN 1530's Mo Egger Radio Show will go live from UC Baseball Stadium at 3 p.m. for a special on-site broadcast featuring guests from Cincinnati Athletics.
The UC baseball team is set to host Indiana at 6 p.m., with $2 general admission tickets and $2 hot dogs available for all fans. In addition, $5 domestic beers will be offered until first pitch. About Cincinnati Athletics:
The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 450 student-athletes. The Bearcats have a proud athletics history, winning eight national championships and 118 conference titles. The Cincinnati men's basketball team is among the 15 winningest programs all-time, while the football team became the first non-Power Five program to compete in the College Football Playoff in 2021. Olympic gold medalist volleyball player Jordan Thompson, NBA Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson and Major League Baseball legend Sandy Koufax are among the several luminaries who have competed as Bearcats.
In 2023, the Bearcats entered a new era as a Power Four School when they officially joined the Big 12 Conference, positioning Cincinnati among the nation's premier athletics programs.
Off the field, UC student-athletes continue to find success, as well, collectively posting a 3.48 GPA in the fall of 2024 with 83 percent earning spots on the Honor Roll.
Under the leadership of Director of Athletics John Cunningham, and supported by more than 150 full-time staff members, UC Athletics' mission is to connect our community, enhance our university and impact the lives of student-athletes as they prepare to change the world on and off the field.
