JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field teams concluded the second day of competition at the NCAA East First Round on Thursday, hosted by the University of North Florida.
Eight Bearcats were in action on day two, with graduate student Fred Moudani-Likibi leading the way for UC.
// PUNCHING TICKETS TO EUGENE
Moudani-Likibi notched his direct flight to Eugene, Ore., for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. He took home a third-place finish in the shot put after unleashing a hurl of 19.71m.
The Savigny-le-Temple, France, native is a three-time first-team All-American, going for his fourth. Moudani-Likibi recently claimed his third conference title after winning the 2025 Outdoor Big 12 Shot Put Title with a throw of 20.28m. During the indoor season, he earned his third All-America honor as he finished sixth in the shot put (19.63m) at nationals. Moudani-Likibi also holds the Bearcats' indoor (20.62m) and outdoor (20.54m) shot put records.

Sophomore Davenae Fagan blazed to a program-record 51.65 in the 400m, earning 10th place and claiming her ticket to Saturday's quarterfinals. Fagan also participated in the 200m dash, punching a time of 23.52 to secure 25th place, just 0.03 seconds outside a time that would have advanced her to the next round.
Junior Kya Epps advanced to the 100m and 200m quarterfinals. In the 100m, she placed 15th overall with a personal best time of 11.23, just 0.01 seconds off from the school record set in 2021 by Caisja Chandler (11.22). Her strong showing in the 200m also earned her a spot in Saturday's quarterfinals. Epps notched 12th place in the 200m, thanks to a blazing time of 23.17.
Macaela Walker etched her name into the 400m hurdles quarterfinal after registering an impressive time of 57.48, snagging 15th place. Walker also competed in the 100m hurdles, where she fell just short of a qualifying time. The Oxford, Pa., native finished in 28th place, with a time of 13:38.
The quarterfinal action begins on Saturday with the 100m dash at 6:35 p.m., followed by the 400m at 6:50 p.m., the 400m hurdles at 7:25 p.m., and the 200m at 7:50 p.m.

Graduate students Amanda Ngandu Ntumba on the women's side and Korbin Spencer on the men's side, both qualified in the shot put and discus events. Spencer competed in the shot put on Wednesday. Ngandu Ntumba was also scheduled to participate in the shot put on Wednesday, but due to inclement weather, the event was rescheduled for Friday at 10 a.m. ET.
Spencer delivered a heave of 18.26m to claim a 21st-place finish, concluding his shot put season. The Springfield, Ohio, native Spencer returns to the throwers circle on Friday, as the men's discus is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. ET.
Ngandu Ntumba is set to compete in the women's discus on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.

Three Bearcats wrapped up their remarkable 2025 seasons.
Two Cincinnati student-athletes fared well in the women's hammer throw. Graduate student Hannah Blood concluded her incredible collegiate career with a 36th-place finish, launching a toss of 55.04m, while senior Miranda Tcheutchoua placed 33rd, due to a 56.17m throw, closing her season.
Rounding out the night for Cincinnati was junior Claire Curtsinger, who swiftly ran around the track, crossing the finish line at 34:39.21, snatching a 35th place finish in the 10,000m.
