EUGENE, Ore. — University of Cincinnati track and field freshman Macaela Walker (400m Hurdle) earned Second Team All-America honors on Thursday, day two of the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Walker, an Oxford, Pa., native, delivered an impressive 57.75 performance in the 400m hurdles to claim 16th place and secure second-team All-America recognition. Her achievement marks a historic double first for the Bearcats program. She became both the first Cincinnati athlete to qualify for nationals in the 400m hurdles and the first to earn All-America honors in the event.
The talented freshman burst onto the collegiate track scene with standout performances at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships. She shattered her program's 100m hurdles record with a blistering 13.13 second run that earned her fourth place, then followed that up by claiming third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.43 seconds.
Amanda Ngandu Ntumba (Shot Put), Kya Epps (200m) and Davenae Fagan (400m) also represented the Bearcat red and black on day two of competition.
Ngandu Ntumba finished her shot put season with a toss of 16.05m to secure a 23rd-place finish. She became just the third Bearcat in school history to qualify in the event and will return to competition Saturday for the discus at 3:30 p.m. The Saint-Étienne, France, native holds Cincinnati's discus record after shattering the previous mark of 55.15m (set by Jane Sensibaugh in 2022) with a dominant 60.10m throw at the Texas Relays, an improvement of more than five meters

Epps concluded her incredible 2025 campaign, running a 23.23, earning her a 23rd-place finish in the 200m dash. The Akron, Ohio native became the fourth woman in UC history to qualify for nationals in the 200m and holds the program's second-fastest times in both the 100m (11.23) and 200m (22.82) outdoor events.
Fagan narrowly missed All-America status by just 0.13 seconds, finishing 18th in the 400m with a time of 52.51. The Stone Mountain, Georgia sophomore had a dominant season highlighted by her program-record 51.65 in the 400m dash. She also claimed fifth place at the Big 12 Championships (54.68) and captured three regular-season victories in the 400m.
