Cincinnati senior defensive lineman Dontay Corleone earned the honors from the nation's oldest college football All-American team, and eight others earned Athlon Preseason All-Big 12 nods.

Corleone, also named an Athlon's Fourth-Team Preseason All-American, earned the same Phil Steele recognition last week.

Tight end Joe Royer joined Corleone on Athlon's first team. Second team honorees were Gavin Gerhardt and Max Fletcher, while wide receiver Jeff Caldwell and linebacker Jake Golday made the third team. A trio of newcomers: running back Tawee Walker, offensive lineman Joe Cotton and cornerback Matthew McDoom, rounded out the fourth.

Additionally, the Bearcats added 40 scholarship student-athletes, including 21 transfer portal additions this offseason. Cincinnati was named an early transfer portal winner by The Athletic and added the nation's top available offensive lineman (Cotton) in the spring portal.
