CINCINNATI – Cincinnati’s Landyn Vidourek was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the third round of the 2025 MLB Draft on Sunday.

The 104th overall pick, Vidourek is the 52nd player in program history to hear his name called in the MLB Draft, and the fourth Bearcat to be picked in the top ten rounds since 2020. He is the fourth player in school history selected in the top three rounds of the draft and the first since Ian Happ went ninth overall in 2015.

Vidourek is the first Bearcat ever selected by the Dodgers in the MLB Draft.

“Landyn is arguably our most improved player over the past two years,” head coach Jordan Bischel said. “He has worked incredibly hard to go from one of the most talented players to one of the best players in the Big 12. He stole eight more bases than any other player in the Big 12 this year while also being 11th in the league with 14 home runs. This was all despite missing seven games late in the season due to injury. This explosive combination makes him one most exciting players in this year’s draft.”

An electric player, Vidourek earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors this season and contributed in all facets of the game. The Hamilton, Ohio native started 51 games and hit .304 with 14 home runs, 43 RBI, 39 stolen bases, 56 runs scored, 10 doubles, and 43 walks. His 39 thefts led the Big 12 and tied for 13th nationally, and were the third-most ever in a season in school history. Vidourek ends his career as one of the most prolific base stealers in school history, ranking fourth all-time with 65 steals. A stout right fielder, his glove and arm in the outfield were weapons all season long.
