CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s soccer team defeated Central Michigan, 2-0, on Thursday night inside Gettler stadium.
The Bearcats improve to 2-2-1 on the season while the Chippewas move 0-4.
Cincinnati showed out on defense only allowing Central Michigan to two shots.
In the second half the Bearcats brought the intensity securing two goals.
Senior Faith Broering claimed the Bearcats’ first goal at the 65 minute mark witht the assist from sophomore Jada Arthurs.
20 minutes later, Arthurs fired off her own goal at the 82 minute mark with assist from Senior Coley Sidloski.
Sidloski (four) and Arthurs (three) both recorded a season high in shots.
As a team, the Bearcats notched 21 shots, six saves, six corner kicks and two assists.
Sophomore Carly Oubs, junior Emma Gioffre, sophomore Anna Barber, freshman Christa Gibbons, graduate student Camryn Miller and Broering all played the full 90 minutes of play.
The Chippewas recorded six saves and nine shots but were unable to convert.
