TicketsCINCINNATI – Former University of Cincinnati women’s soccer core midfielder, Lauren Bastian, is set to begin her professional career in Greece, as she signed with Odysseas Moschatou women’s FC on Tuesday.
Located in Moschato, Athens, Greece, the Odysseas Moschatou women's FC competes in the Greek Second Division, the country's second division for women's soccer.
Bastian concluded her five-year career at UC as a strong leader, ending her career with 70 match appearances, six goals, 11 assists, and a 34.4% shots-on-goal percentage. She earned AAC Rookie of the Week honors her freshman year after assisting Sophie Gorman's game-tying goal in a deadlock with No. 15 South Florida, clinching a spot in the league tournament.
A Centerville, Ohio, native, Bastian entered the Bearcats program with an outstanding background, including All-State, Miami Valley All-Area First Team, Miami Valley South First Team and All-Greater Western Ohio Conference First Team honors. She played for both Cincinnati Development Academy and Cincinnati United Premier Gold, helping her team capture six consecutive Ohio state titles. She helped her team advance to the U.S. Soccer Regional and National Championship finals and win the U.S. Soccer National League in 2017. Her standout performances earned her a spot on the U.S. Youth Nationals Girls Best XI for U15–U20.
Off the field, she was also recognized for her academic achievements by being listed on the 2022 AAC Honor Roll and the 2022 and 2024 CSC Academic All-District Teams.
