CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team held its first fall practice on Monday afternoon, and the program also announced its fall ball schedule.
The Bearcats are hosting several open scrimmages and an exhibition game at UC Baseball Stadium this fall, giving fans plenty of opportunities to get a look at the squad before the 2026 regular season begins in February.
All fall ball open scrimmages and exhibition games at UC Baseball Stadium are free and open to the public. Dates and times are subject to change, fans are asked to keep an eye on @GoBearcatsBASE on social media or GoBearcats.com for any schedule updates.
Specific game promotions will be announced at a later date.
Below is a complete list of scrimmages and exhibition games Cincinnati will be hosting this fall:
- Sunday, Sept. 21 (Open Scrimmage) – 6:30 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 25 (Open Scrimmage) – 3:00 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 27 (Exhibition vs. Purdue) – TBA
- Thursday, Oct. 9 (Open Scrimmage) – 6:00 p.m.
- Thursday, Oct. 23 (Red & Black World Series) – TBA
- Tuesday, Oct. 28 (Red & Black World Series) – TBA
- Wednesday, Oct. 29 (Red & Black World Series) – TBA
Cincinnati will also travel to Pitt for an exhibition game on Saturday, Oct. 11.
The Bearcats feature 21 newcomers on the roster, including eight from the transfer portal.
Head Coach Jordan Bischel is entering his third season at the helm of the program and will be looking to build off a successful 2025 campaign. Bischel, who recently agreed to a contract extension through the 2031 season, led UC to an at-large NCAA Tournament berth last year, the first NCAA Tournament trip for UC since 2019 and first at-large berth since 1974. The Bearcats also won six games against ranked opponents, a school record.
UC returns three former All-Big 12 performers in junior pitcher Nathan Taylor, junior catcher Jack Natili, senior infielder/pitcher Christian Mitchelle, and sophomore infielder Quinton Coats as well as several key cogs from last year’s NCAA Tournament team.
