CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team wraps up its non-conference slate at the Ball State Tournament in Muncie, Ind., beginning on Thursday.
The Bearcats will play Ball State on Thursday at 11:30 a.m., followed by Eastern Kentucky on Friday at 4 p.m.
UC begins Big 12 play on Sept. 24 on the road at UCF before returning home to host West Virginia on Sept. 27.
MILESTONE ALERT
Cincinnati head coach Danijela Tomić earned her 400th career victory as a head coach as she led the Bearcats to a 3-1 win over Illinois State on Saturday. She joins an elite group of 47 Division I coaches who have 400 or more victories.
SERIES HISTORY
Ball State: The two teams face off for the first time since 2019. Cincinnati leads the overall series 8-7.
Eastern Kentucky: The Colonials and the Bearcats have met a total of 32 times since 1972, most recently in 2018. UC holds a 21-11 advantage over EKU.
BIG 12 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK (9/9/25)
Junior outside hitter Sydney Nolan earned Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors after notching 52 total kills against three opponents at the Chattanooga Classic.
Nolan currently ranks 14th in the country for attacks per set (11.76 avg), 15th in kills per set (4.69 avg) and 26th in points per set (5.02 avg)
She sits second in the Big 12 for kills per set as well.
QUEENS OF THE CITY
The University of Cincinnati women’s volleyball program extended its win streak to four after defeating Xavier on Tuesday night inside Fifth Third Arena.
The Bearcats swept their crosstown rival behind an electric atmosphere of 2,208 fans.
Senior Carly Glendinning paced the attack with 16 kills, joined by junior Sydney Nolan’s 14.
At the net, sophomore Andi Spies chipped in 36 assists, her fourth consecutive match over 30.
Sophomore Lilly Gillespie provided stability in the backcourt with 11 digs.
Cincinnati has broken two opponents’ undefeated streaks: Alabama (3-0) and Xavier (6-0).
