CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team returns to Fifth Third Arena to take on Xavier on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

The crosstown rivalry, known as the “Queen City Classic,” heads into its 42nd matchup. Cincinnati leads the overall series 28-14 and secured the victory last season at the Cintas Center.

MILESTONE WATCH

Cincinnati head coach Danijela Tomić is just two wins shy of reaching 400 career victories. She is set to join a group of 47 active Division I coaches with 400 or more wins. Tomić recorded 236 wins at Bowling Green and 158 at FIU before arriving at UC.

CHATTANOOGA CLASSIC CHAMPIONS

The Bearcats were named the 2025 Chattanooga Classic Champions after going undefeated.

Sydney Nolan was dubbed the tournament’s "Most Outstanding Player" alongside Carly Glendinning, who earned a spot on the All-Tournament team.

Nolan finished the three-match road stint with 53 kills, 22 digs and a .328 hitting percentage. Glendinning recorded 39 kills, 18 digs and eight blocks.

Sophomore Andi Spies recorded a double-double vs. Alabama with 32 assists and 17 digs. She has tallied 30-plus assists in three consecutive matches. Against JSU, Spies notched 46 assists, just four short of her career high.

Spies has collected 173 assists across four matches and 19 sets. She sits ninth in the Big 12 for total assists.

Against Ohio, the Bearcats held the Bobcats’ offense to below .100 in the final three sets.

Freshman Tatjana Simeunović grabbed a total of 16 blocks and 12 kills throughout the tournament. Sophomore Gretchen Sigman added 11 blocks and 18 kills, including a comeback set win against Alabama.
