CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s and men’s swimming and diving program opened its season by hosting Northern Kentucky on Friday inside Keating Aquatic Center.
Cincinnati earned 29 event wins against Northern Kentucky.
The women’s (166-71) and men’s (159-88) teams opened the season with dominant performances, both securing victories over the Norse.
Divers sophomore Ramez Diaa and freshman Noah Green started off the meet with a strong start as this duo claimed the top two spots in the men’s 1-meter and 3-meter dive.
Senior Michelle Morgan, junior Lindi Worrell and sophomore Kate Mardis each earned themselves two event wins. Morgan won in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:17.28) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:06.44). Worrell won in the 500-yard freestyle (5:06.03) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.51). Mardis won in the 50-yard freestyle (23.78) and the 100-yard freestyle (52.09).
For the men’s team, graduate student Benson Wong and sophomore Conner Hogan also each earned two event wins. Hogan won in the 50-yard freestyle (20.57) and the 100-yard freestyle (45.74). Yong won in the 100-yard breaststroke (55.71) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:02.17).
