The Cincinnati men’s golf team sits sixth as a team, while senior Ryan Ford continues to pace the 84-competitor field after the second round of play at The Bryson Invitational Tuesday at Daniel Island Club. Vanderbilt leads the 15-team field at 18-under, followed by Kansas at 17-under, Duke at 15-under, Wake Forest at 12-under, South Carolina at 11-under and the Bearcats at 10-under.

DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. – The Cincinnati men’s golf team sits sixth as a team, while senior Ryan Ford continues to pace the 84-competitor field after the second round of play at The Bryson Invitational Tuesday at Daniel Island Club. Vanderbilt leads the 15-team field at 18-under, followed by Kansas at 17-under, Duke at 15-under, Wake Forest at 12-under, South Carolina at 11-under and the Bearcats at 10-under.

Final-round play gets underway Wednesday morning.

After carding a 6-under 66 in the opening round, Ford led four Bearcats in red figures with a bogey-free 3-under 69 to hold a one-stroke lead at 9-under over Kansas’ William King. Sophomore Leo Wessel used a trio of birdies to post his second-straight 1-under 71 to sit in a tie for 21st, while freshman Brayden Miller notched a second-consecutive even-par 72 and is tied for 37th.

After a tough opening round, senior Rylan Wotherspoon bounced back to card four birdies for a 2-under 70 and to climb 13 spots into a tie for 56th, while fellow senior Connor McNeely also responded nicely with a 1-under 71 to move up 10 spots into a tie for 66th with 18 holes to play.

As a team, Cincinnati leads the field in par-3 scoring at even par while ranking second with 120 pars. Ford is 5-under to lead the field in par-4 scoring and is tied for second in the field with 10 birdies.
