CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team announced its 2026 regular season schedule on Wednesday.
The Bearcats’ schedule is highlighted by 27 home games at UC Baseball Stadium and 18 games against programs that made the NCAA Tournament last year.
This year’s home Big 12 opponents include Utah, Kansas, Baylor, West Virginia, and Texas Tech. Cincinnati visits BYU, Oklahoma State, UCF, Houston, and Kansas State.
UC will battle rival Xavier twice in 2026, once as the away team on March 24 and again on April 14 at UC Baseball Stadium.
Cincinnati opens its season with an eight-game road trip that begins at Jacksonville State (Feb. 13-15). Following a midweek contest at Auburn (Feb. 17), UC will play four games at UAB (Feb. 19-22) before coming home.
The Bearcats will play their next 10 games at UC Baseball Stadium, a stretch that begins with their home opener on Feb. 24 vs. Bowling Green. A weekend series against Austin Peay (Feb. 27-March 1) will precede a midweek matchup vs. Western Kentucky (March 3) before UC San Diego comes to town for four games (March 5-8). The homestand concludes with a midweek battle vs. Evansville (March 10).
Big 12 play begins the following weekend at BYU (March 12-14). The Bearcats will stay in Utah to face Utah Valley for a pair of games during spring break (March 16-17) ahead of its Big 12 homer opener against Utah (March 20-22). The Jayhawks visit on March 27-29 and Wright State visits on March 31, then UC heads to Stillwater to face Oklahoma State (April 2-4).
The first March 24 game at Xavier will serve as the opening game of the Joe Nuxhall Classic, and Cincinnati will face either Wright State or Miami (Ohio) at Prasco Park on April 7 or 8 to conclude the event.
A series vs. Baylor (April 10-12) precedes the home game vs. the Musketeers on April 14, and then the Bearcats hit the road for 10 of its next 13 games. A road series at UCF (April 17-19) and road midweek game at Wright State (April 21) come before UC’s penultimate home weekend vs. West Virginia (April 24-26). UC embarks on another long road trip from May 1-10, where it will face Houston (May 1-3), Oral Roberts (May 5), and Kansas State (May 8-10). The regular season ends at home on May 14-16 vs. Texas Tech.
Following the regular season, the 2026 Big 12 Baseball Tournament presented by Allstate will be played at Surprise Stadium, the spring training home of the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers, located in Surprise, Arizona. The top 12 teams in the regular season standings will compete in the tournament.
Head Coach Jordan Bischel is entering his third season at the helm of the program and will be looking to build off a successful 2025 campaign. Bischel, who agreed to a contract extension through the 2031 season in August, led UC to an at-large NCAA Tournament berth last year, the first NCAA Tournament trip for UC since 2019 and first at-large berth since 1974. The Bearcats also won six games against ranked opponents, a school record.
UC returns three former All-Big 12 performers in junior pitcher Nathan Taylor, junior catcher Jack Natili, and senior infielder/pitcher Christian Mitchelle, as well as several other key cogs from last year’s NCAA Tournament team. The Bearcats also added talented newcomers through the transfer portal and inked the highest-rated recruiting class in program history last fall.
