CINCINNATI – Three Cincinnati women’s basketball players along with head coach Katrina Merriweather will represent the program on October 21 at Big 12 Media Days presented by New Era at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo.
Reagan Jackson, Destiny Thomas and Mya Perry will meet with media to talk Bearcats basketball ahead of the 2025-26 season. In addition to visiting with television and radio reporters, the student-athletes will participate in several marketing and branding activations with the conference.
Coverage on the main set will air on ESPNU and ESPN+ from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT each day. Merriweather and Jackson are set to join the broadcast live from 11:40-11:50 a.m. CT.
Commissioner Brett Yormark will speak at 12:10 p.m. CT Tuesday, preceded and followed by Q&A sessions with women’s head coaches and student-athletes moderated by Missy Heidrick starting at 8:55 a.m. CT. A feed of all press conferences and interviews will be available on ESPN+.
Guard Reagan Jackson
Reagan Jackson, Cincinnati’s returning leading scorer, started all 29 games in 2024-25, averaging 9.2 points per game. The two-year starter has totaled 82 career three-pointers, including 46 last season. Jackson scored a career-high 29 points with five threes in a win over Western Illinois and added 24 points with a career-best six threes against Arizona State in the Big 12 Championship.
Center Destiny Thomas
After missing last season while recovering from injury, Destiny Thomas looks to make a strong return. Thomas appeared in 25 games with 17 starts in 2023-24, averaging 4.8 points and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 51.8% from the field. She was named to the AAC All-Freshman Team in 2022-23 and came to Cincinnati with the staff from Memphis.
Guard Mya Perry
Mya Perry is a dynamic scorer and one of the nation’s top perimeter threats. During the 2024-25 season at Florida Atlantic, she started all 29 games and led the Owls with 15.5 points per game and 76 made threes — third-most in FAU single-season history. A Second Team All-AAC selection, Perry scored in double figures 23 times, including six 20-point outings and a career-high 31 points against Memphis.
