Three weeks since its last action, the Cincinnati cross country teams are ready to roll again at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational on Friday morning.
The action begins with the women at 9:50 a.m. ET, followed by the men at 10:30. Those races are 5,000 and 8,000 meters, respectively. Live timing is available here.
More than 40 schools are participating, including DePaul, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Marquette, Michigan Notre Dame and South Carolina. Cincinnati took part in this event last year as well, finishing eighth on the women's side and 12th for the men, and this one is again at the Burke Golf Course.
Ann Lemirisho has been the top women's runner of the first two events, as the freshman from Kenya was third out of 255 qualified runners at Michigan State following being on top at the three-team opener at Miami (Ohio). Her 20:18.3 mark in the 6K would equal a 16:43.59 in the 5K. Claire Curtsinger was excellent on this course last year with a 17:18.6 clip.
Seth Elking was the men's top finisher at last year's event with a 23:48.9, and Lucas Towne, a freshman in the event last year, has been its best performer these first two events.
