The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team travels to West Lafayette, Ind., to compete at the Purdue Invitational at Purdue at the Schwartz Tennis Center on October 31 - November 2.

CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team travels to West Lafayette, Ind., to compete at the Purdue Invitational at Purdue in the Schwartz Tennis Center on October 31 - November 2.

The field features Purdue, Miami (OH) and Depaul.

Play will mimic dual matches, with competition beginning with doubles, followed by singles.

The Bearcats picked up a total of nine total victories across singles and doubles play at the  ITA/UTSA Fall Ohio Valley Regional Championships.

Freshman Tara Kurepa led the team tallying three singles wins and a doubles win with partner junior Gabrielle Guenther

Junior Sakurako Watanabe and Guenther each collected two singles victories on the weekend. Watanabe advanced to the second round of the main draw, while Guenther made a strong run to the singles main draw round of 16 before falling to Tennessee.

The duo of Kurepa and Guenther were the only pair to advance in the main draw doubles. Kurepa and Guenther powered past Kentucky with an 8-1 win in the first round of the main-draw doubles before falling 8-2 to Vanderbilt in the second round.
